  • Server Abuse

    Any attempt to undermine or cause harm to a server or customer of Carrier Hosting is strictly prohibited.

Carrier Hosting will strongly react to any use or attempted use of an Internet account or computer without the owner's authorization. Such attempts include "Internet scamming" (tricking other people into releasing their passwords), password theft, security hole scanning, etc.

Any unauthorized use of accounts or computers by a Carrier Hosting customer, whether or not the attacked account or computer belongs to Carrier Hosting, will result in action against the attacker. Possible actions include warnings, account suspension or cancellation, as well as civil or criminal legal action, depending on the seriousness of the attack.

IMPORTANT NOTE - Carrier Hosting has the right to discontinue service, or deny access to anyone who violates our Policies or the terms and conditions shown below WITHOUT WARNING OR PRIOR NOTICE. No refunds of fees paid will be made if account termination is due to violation of the terms outlined below.

Customers may not run IRC, bots or clients on shared servers. Unacceptable uses also include, but are NOT limited to: Bulk emailing, unsolicited emailings, newsgroup spamming, pornographic content, illegal content, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, warez, cracks, software serial numbers, proxy-relaying and/or anything else determined by Carrier Hosting to be unacceptable use of Carrier Hosting's services including abuse of server resources.

Shared hosting accounts may be terminated if it includes the following content or have links to the following content: Providing material that is grossly offensive to the Web community including blatant expressions of bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity; promoting or providing instructional information about illegal activities; promoting physical harm or injury against any group or individual; displaying material containing obscene nudity or pornographic material (not applicable to managed dedicated servers); displaying material that exploits children under 18 years of age; acts of copyright infringement including offering pirated computer programs or links to such programs; information used to circumvent manufacturer-installed copy-protect devices, including serial or registration numbers for software programs, or any type of cracker utilities.

  • Traffic Abuse

    Carrier Hosting's customers are privileged to be offered unlimited traffic for their web sites. The intention of Carrier Hosting is to provide a large bandwidth to transfer web documents, and not an off site storage area for electronic files. Any customer who violates Carrier Hosting's Policies in abusing site transfer will be notified and given 2 days to remedy the problem. If the problem is not resolved within the allotted period, the client will be billed for the overages.

For those that do not qualify for the unlimited service, traffic will go unmonitored until you reach the amount of quota allocated to your specific web hosting plan. Thereafter, normal data transfer cost of $10.00/1GB/month will be billed to your account. If you want to pre-pay for bandwidth overages, you will be billed $5.00/1GB/month.

You will have 3 days to pay for your overages. If you do not pay for your overages your site will be disabled within 3 days of the first notice. This does not apply to co-location clients. Co-location clients will be billed for overages based on switch reports. Co-location clients must pay for the overages IMMEDIATELY once billed otherwise Carrier Hosting has the sole decision to deactivate any and all servers.

Carrier Hosting will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this provision.

  • Disk Usage Abuse

    will not tolerate abuse of account’s disk usage. At least 90% of your web pages (html) must be 'linked' with files (.GIF, .JPEG, etc.) stored on Carrier Hosting's server. Web sites that are found to contain either/or no html documents, a large number of unlinked files are subject to files deletion or account cancellation at the discretion of Carrier Hosting management, with or without prior notice.

Thereafter, normal website data storage costs $0.20/1MB/month will be billed to your account. If you want to pre-pay for disk space overages, you will be billed $0.10/1MB/month.

  • Spam(Unsolicited eMail)

Unsolicited commercial advertisements (spam) are not allowed in e-mail, and will likely result in account cancellation.

Carrier Hosting takes a zero-tolerance approach to spam originating from its servers or for spam advertising of domains hosted within our network. We will charge the compromised account up to $25 per unsolicited email message sent and delete the suspected account with any prior notice.

The following activities are not allowed: Unsolicited bulk or commercial messages ("spam"), which includes, but is not limited to, bulk mailing of commercial advertising, informational announcements, charity requests, petitions for signatures, and political or religious tracts (such messages may only be sent to those who have explicitly requested it from your domain); Forging, altering or removing electronic mail headers - any domain sending stealth spam will be terminated without warning and without refund Sending numerous copies of the same or substantially similar message with the intent to disrupt a server or account ("mail bombing"); Spamming Newsgroups: Commercial advertisements are unwelcome in most Usenet discussion groups and on most e-mail mailing lists. Inappropriate posting may result in account cancellation. See the newsgroup or mailing list's charter for whether advertising is allowed or not. "Spamming," or sending a message to many different off-topic newsgroups, is particularly unethical and will be treated as such; Mail may not be used to harass or intimidate others. Harassment, whether through language, frequency of messages, or size of messages, is prohibited. Sending a single unwelcome message may be considered harassment. If a recipient asks to stop receiving e-mail, you must not send that person any further messages.

In addition, we do not allow clients to send more than 2,000 pieces of e-mail per day from a shared hosting account. If you do send more than 2,000 pieces of e-mail per day, your account will be deleted without prior notice.

Note: If you use the services of another provider to promote a web site hosted by or through Carrier Hosting (spamvertising), then the provisions of the above policy shall apply as if the spam were sent through our servers.

  • CGI & Script Usage Policy

    Carrier Hosting provides our clients with Web Hosting accounts that permit the use of CGI files, PHP scripts, and other executable programs. Because these scripts use much more system resources than standard HTML pages, certain restrictions must be made governing the use of such "active content" systems. We regret that in many cases we are unable to determine what specific script or application is causing the system resource over-run. Under most circumstances, we are able to pin-point it to the offending account on the system. The following rules apply to all "active content" files as listed above:

  1. The script must use low system resources. Scripts that consume a large amount of our RAM or processor will be subject to immediate suspension until the owner can be notified and an alternative solution is reached.
  2. Each user account may not use more than 20% of system resources at any given time. If an account is consistently using 20% or greater system resources, the account holder will be warned and if no action is taken on behalf of the account holder the account may be suspended.
  3. The scripts may not interact with any server configuration or hardware. Accounts running these scripts are subject to immediate account termination without refund.
  4. The script can not be used or referenced from any other site not hosted by Carrier Hosting.
  5. The script must execute in a timely fashion. Any script that uses the processor for more than a few milliseconds is subject to removal.
  6. Any script that appears to be designed specifically to attack or otherwise maliciously affect the server is completely unacceptable, and if such scripts are found in your account the account will be terminated immediately and your actions will be reported to the proper local, state, and federal authorities and legal action will be taken to prosecute the account holder to the fullest extent of the law by Carrier Hosting .
  7. Perl-based chat room scripts are strictly prohibited.
  8. Scripts that require high-bandwidth usage, such as non-Perl chat room scripts or banner rotation scripts, will be allowed to run only on our high-end accounts.
  9. Any accounts with scripts found in violation of these policies are subject to future scrutiny of all CGI, Perl, CFM, ASP, and PHP scripts by our System Administrators. If a script is found to be harmful to the system, it will be killed immediately and the account locked down until the account owners have been contacted. Malicious scripts are subject to immediate account termination without a refund.
  10. Each account comes with its own CGI-bin. You are free to use any CGI scripts you wish, however we reserve the right to disable any CGI script that effect normal server operation or service to other Carrier Hosting customers. For the protection of all our customers, we also reserve the right to discontinue service to those customers who continue to run scripts that effect normal server operation. No chat rooms or similar scripts allowed.
  • Chat Rooms

    We do not allow YOU to install YOUR own chat rooms within a shared hosting account, without approving it with CarrierHosting.com. This includes, but not limited to, chat applications written in PHP, Perl, CGI, Python, Ruby, etc. Any web application that provides 'real-time' chat is also not permitted. Most chat rooms tend to be large system hogs and we cannot allow it as an account option. However, web based forums such as vBulletin, phpBB or similar forum scripts are acceptable.

  • Background Running Programs

    We may allow programs to run continually in the background. These are considered on a one-to-one basis and an extra charge will be incurred based on system resources used and operational maintenance needed. (this section does not apply to managed dedicated servers)

  • Content Policy
    All services provided by Carrier Hosting may be used for lawful purposes only. Transmission, storage, or presentation of any information, data or material in violation of any United States Federal, State or City law is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to: copyrighted material, trademark, intellectual property, material we judge to be threatening or obscene, or material protected by trade secret and other statute without proper authorization. The subscriber agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Carrier Hosting from any claims resulting from the use of the service which damages the subscriber or any other party. 

Also prohibited are sites that promote any illegal activity or present content that may be damaging to Carrier Hosting servers or any other server on the internet. Links to such materials are also prohibited. Examples of unacceptable content or links:

  1. Pirated software
  2. Hacker programs or archives
  3. Warez sites
  4. Teen Pornography
  5. MP3s


Carrier Hosting will be the sole arbiter as to what constitutes a violation of this provision. Carrier Hosting does not host competitor sites or web pages promoting sites of its competitors.

Any deliberate attempt to cause damage to Carrier Hosting or any other Internet servers will result in immediate account deactivation without prior notice. No refund is given in this case.



  • Indemnification Policy:
    We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason not prohibited by law. Also we reserve the right to terminate service to any customer for any reason not prohibited by law. You agree to use all Carrier Hosting services and facilities at your own risk. Carrier Hosting specifically disclaims all warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Carrier Hosting be liable for any loss, or loss of data, or other commercial damage, including but not limited to special, incidental, consequential or other damages. Customer agrees that it shall defend, indemnify, save and hold Carrier Hosting harmless from any and all demands, liabilities, losses, costs and claims, including reasonable attorney's fees asserted against Carrier Hosting, its agents, its customers, officers and employees, that may arise or result from any service provided or performed or agreed to be performed or any product sold by customer, it's agents, employees or assigns. Customer agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Carrier Hosting against liabilities arising out of;

  1. any injury to person or property caused by any products sold or otherwise distributed in connection with Carrier Hosting's server;

  2. any material supplied by customer infringing or allegedly infringing on the proprietary rights of a third party;

  3. copyright infringement and

  4. any defective products sold to customer from Carrier Hosting's server.


Carrier Hosting shall be the sole judge of what violates this Policy.

Carrier Hosting is only responsible to the present owner of the Web hosting space. We verify ownership by credit card number (if paid for by credit card), name, address, username, & password. If you give this information to any other party you risk having your Web site and any other information on your account changed and/or deleted. We are not responsible for any information on your account should you reveal this information. 

CUSTOMER AGREES THAT IT SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY, SAVE AND HOLD Carrier Hosting HARMLESS FROM ANY AND ALL DEMANDS, LIABILITIES, LOSSES, COSTS AND CLAIMS, INCLUDING REASONABLE ATTORNEY'S FEES ASSERTED AGAINST Carrier Hosting, ITS AGENTS, ITS CUSTOMERS, OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES, THAT MAY ARISE OR RESULT FROM ANY SERVICE PROVIDED OR PERFORMED OR AGREED TO BE PERFORMED OR ANY PRODUCT SOLD BY THE CUSTOMER, IT'S AGENTS, EMPLOYEES OR ASSIGNS. CUSTOMER AGREES TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS Carrier Hosting AGAINST LIABILITIES ARISING OUT OF; (1) ANY INJURY TO PERSON OR PROPERTY CAUSED BY ANY PRODUCTS SOLD OR OTHERWISE DISTRIBUTED IN CONNECTION WITH Carrier Hosting'S SERVER; (2) ANY MATERIAL SUPPLIED BY THE CUSTOMER INFRINGING OR ALLEGEDLY INFRINGING ON THE PROPRIETARY RIGHTS OF A THIRD PARTY; (3) COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT AND (4) ANY DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS SOLD TO CUSTOMER FROM Carrier Hosting'S SERVER.

  • Payment Policy

    All accounts are set up on a pre-pay basis. Setup fees are charged for all new accounts as well as major account changes and are non-refundable. All pricing is guaranteed for the term of pre-payment. Carrier Hosting reserves the right to change prices at any time, unless other terms have been agreed upon. Any account not brought current within a week (7 days) of e-mail notice or exceeding this time frame in any way is subject to suspension. The customer is responsible for all fees owed on the account from the time it was established to the time that the customer notifies Carrier Hosting at cancel@CarrierHosting.com to request for termination of services. All payment is in U.S. currency. Carrier Hosting will bill each client $50 per returned check, per wire transfer received and per credit card chargeback received. All Carrier Hosting accounts are setup on anniversary billing cycles. Your particular billing cycle corresponds to the contract length that was initially chosen at setup. Your account will automatically renew at this length. There is no fee to change to a shorter billing cycle at the end of the current cycle. However, if you wish to change to a shorter billing cycle during a current cycle, there will be a $50.00 fee.     Shared & Dedicated Server Hosting Customers: Accounts that are thirty (30) days past due will be automatically terminated. All past due and unpaid balances are subject to collection. In the event of collection, you will be liable for costs of collection including attorney's fees, court costs, and collection agency fees.

    Co-Location Customers: Accounts that are thirty (30) days past due will be automatically terminated. All past due and unpaid balances are subject to collection. After customer account reaches ninety (90) days past due all Co-Location equipment becomes the property of Carrier Hosting. In the event of collection, you will be liable for costs of collection including attorney's fees, court costs, and collection agency fees.

  • Cancelation

    CarrierHosting.com reserves the right to cancel a service at any time. All fees paid in advance of cancellation will be pro-rated and paid by CarrierHosting.com if we institutes our right of cancelation. Any violation of policies which results in extra costs billed to YOU (i.e. transfer, space etc.).

All of CarrierHosting.com's PLANS are backed by a 30-day money back guarantee. If YOU are not completely satisfied with our services or support within the first 30 days of YOUR contract, YOU will be given a full refund of the contract amount excluding setup fees, domain registration fees, add-on/upgrade fees and overages. Setup fees are refundable only if the account order is canceled prior to account activation.

If YOU cancel, the full contract amount less any setup fees and overages will be refunded if CarrierHosting.com is notified within the first 30 days following activation. This policy does not apply to any additional services such as overages, referrer logs, real audio/video, additional disk space, additional pop accounts, domain registration fees, etc. For credit card payment, refunds will be made to a PayPal account made available by the Customer after the 120th day. Refund policy will not be made available to Customers using wire transfers.

  • Reseller
  1. You provide billing to your customers.  We do not bill your customers. We bill you for the domain name and space, then you turn around and bill them for your cost from us and  your services in addition to that.
  2. Actual or attempted violations of policy by a customer's end user shall be considered violations of the policy by the customer regardless of intention and will be acted upon accordingly.
  3. Your customers are given a limited amount of transfer and if we feel that one of your customers are using up more transfer than allocated or are taking up too much of the CPU usage then we will need to pass some of the extra cost on to you and you will need to pass it on to your customer.  You will need to put that in your terms and conditions for the hosting. You can monitor your customers bandwidth in their control panel.
  4. You agree that neither you nor your customers can hold us responsible for services that you offer.
  5. Your customers have to abide by the same terms and conditions as you do, or we have the right to cancel any of your reseller accounts.
  6. If you abuse our services, we reserve the right to cancel your account, which will also cancel your customers accounts.

  • Disclaimer

    Carrier Hosting WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES YOUR BUSINESS MAY SUFFER. Carrier Hosting MAKES NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED FOR SERVICES WE PROVIDE. Carrier Hosting DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY OR MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THIS INCLUDES LOSS OF DATA RESULTING FROM DELAYS, NON-DELIVERIES, WRONG DELIVERY, AND ANY AND ALL SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS CAUSED BY Carrier Hosting AND ITS EMPLOYEES. Carrier Hosting RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REVISE ITS POLICIES AT ANY TIME. ALL SUB-NETWORKS, RESELLERS AND DEDICATED SERVERS OF Carrier Hosting MUST ADHERE TO THE ABOVE POLICIES. FAILURE TO FOLLOW ANY TERM OR CONDITION WILL BE GROUNDS FOR IMMEDIATE ACCOUNT DEACTIVATION.

  • Email Policy
    Carrier Hosting may not be the source, intermediary, or destination address involved in the transmission of any unsolicited email, email bombs, hate email, or any mass email. Your email account may not be referenced as originator, intermediary, or reply-to address of such email. We consider mass email as any email messages sent to more than 2,000 email addresses in one day or more than 10 news groups. 

Carrier Hosting accepts no responsibility for viruses that may be transmitted to you via email, ftp, http or any other means of electronic transfer. Carrier Hosting does provide some virus scanning on its servers. We are monitoring for viruses that could affect our Linux servers, and not viruses that could affect other operating systems like Windows. Therefore, we cannot prevent the transmission of viruses to your computer system via the Internet. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure they have Virus Software and that it is updated regularly.
